Call for Participation: Future Masters

The Nova Scotia Masterworks Award Foundation is inviting applications for participation from emerging creators to participate in a multidisciplinary arts mentorship program taking place Saturday November 2nd and Sunday November 3rd, 2019.

Future Masters will be a program of talks, workshops and events modelled after the Nova Scotia Masterworks Award and is scheduled around the Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala. Aimed at supporting the next generation of Nova Scotian creators, participants will have the opportunity to share and forge connections with fellow participants, the nominated artists as well as attend the awards gala.


Applicants must be available to attend the full weekend program which begins Saturday November 2nd at 1:30 pm and concludes on Sunday November 3rd at 4:00pm in downtown Halifax. Travel and accommodation subsidies are available.


To apply, you must be a Nova Scotian creator aged 17 – 24 working in writing and publishing, visual arts, performing arts, media and recording arts, or design arts.

  • Given / Preferred Name, Home Address, Phone Number and Email
  • Name and Phone number of Parent or Guardian, if under 18
  • Brief description of what you make (25 words max.)
  • Please note any dietary considerations or allergies
  • Include a one-minute video introducing you and what inspires you to do what you do (no editing is required) uploaded via https://wetransfer.com


Submission Deadline: Tuesday October 15, 2019

Successful applicants will be contacted by Friday October 18th to confirm attendance.
