Sue MacLeod

Sue MacLeod served as inaugural Poet Laureate for Halifax Regional Municipality from 2001-2005.

She is the author of two books of poetry, That Singing You Hear at the Edges (Signature Editions: 2003) and The Language of Rain (Roseway: 1995). Her awards have included Arc’s Poem of the Year Award. For her Poet Laureate project, Sue edited To Find Us: Words and Images of Halifax, an anthology of poems, short stories and photographs with work by nearly 60 writers and artists.

In 2006, To Find Us was shortlisted for Nova Scotia’s Lieutenant-Governor’s Masterworks Arts Award. Sue lives in downtown Halifax, where she writes poetry and fiction, and works in a public library.
