Emma FitzGerald

Emma FitzGerald was born in Southern Africa, grew up in BC and started her professional life as an architect Halifax, where she has been working full time as an artist/author/illustrator since 2013. In Spring 2020 upon hearing the news of the tragic shooting that began in Portapique, NS, she went to the ocean with a bouquet gathered on her walk. FitzGerald documented this act in a series of drawings/paintings that combine pen, watercolour and digital collage that she calls “Spring Offering”. For the NS Masterworks giving Tuesday she will do an autumnal version. The work is grounded in her love of drawing on location and creates a ritual of seeing and acknowledging beauty. For the giveaway one person will receive an 11×14 print of one of the iterations of the Fall bouquet.
