Artist John Greer is a retired Full Professor of Visual Art and a recipient of the Canadian Governor Generals Award. His thinking and teaching has shaped and influenced contemporary sculpture and three-dimensional art practice in Canada.
John Greer has a distinctive international exhibition career with works in many private and public collections, most notably the National Gallery of Canada, the Yongsang Family Park in Seoul, Korea and the IMF in Washington DC, USA. John has been creating Public Art for over twenty years, thoughtfully placing meaningful work in the public realm. He co-founded Intercontinental Sculpture Inc. in 2014. Greer’s work has been widely reviewed and discussed in written form and his recent retrospective exhibition entitled retroActive was accompanied by a substantial monograph with the same title, published through the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
John Greer has an active career and splits his time between his studios in Atlantic Canada as well as Tuscany, Italy.
